Standing Ovation!
For the first time since 2019, fashion glided down the runway last Friday night for a great cause and what a return to live fashion events it was!
Supporting the Mildura Base Public Hospital Foundation’s fundraiser for The Lucas Foundation, the Mildura City Heart’s fashion show headlined the night in the newly restored Powerhouse on the Mildura Riverfront.
Mildura turned on the spring weather, and the community turned up for charity. Indulging the senses in a feast of fashion, delicious food, and a whole lotta fun!
Our models for the night kindly donated their time to the cause, transforming from their everyday lives into superstars strutting their stuff in new season threads. Styled and Directed by Anika and Matilda, the models were primped and primed, with hair from Del & May for the ladies & Slip Rocks for the fellas, and striking makeup from Lashay Dean.
Behind the scenes the green team (aka the MCH team of volunteers) assisted with dressing, organising and making sure the fashion show was a flow of cool and calm amongst the fast paced backstage vibes.
And while the whole fashion event was a huge success, we know these things aren’t possible without the support from our Traders. For all the stores who participated in the runway, donated time and clothes, and helped our models shine, we say a very big thank you for making this possible!
Then there’s the generous list of MCH Traders who banded together to donate $8000 in incredible products and services to be raffled off on the night as part of the fundraiser. Proving again that local businesses really are the pillar of our community, and that supporting local businesses enables local businesses to continue supporting our region.
A region and a business community we here at Mildura City Heart are so incredibly proud to be a part of, to advocate for, and to organise events alongside. The lead up to the event just added to the fun! Chasing down Traders to participate, delivering racks, returning clothes, collecting raffle donations, and feeling the strong community spirit that comes alive when we’re all working together to support a cause.
Our deepest gratitude to Krista for inviting MCH to partner with the MBPH Foundation, for trusting us with your main event, and for creating a beautiful space and atmosphere for everyone to relish in on the night.
One thing we know for sure, fashion events are back in a big way, and it’s a trend we know won’t be going out of style any time soon.
Our thank you list is long! Our gratitude eternal:
