Fibre Optic Symphonic Orchestra (FOSO)

As the sun sets across the ancient dunes, 80 illuminated Hills Hoist structures transform the desert into a breathtaking open-air symphony of colour and sound.

Created by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro, FOSO (Fibre Optic Symphonic Orchestra) is a world-first immersive installation where fibre optic light and orchestral music come together in perfect harmony. Each glowing structure represents a different musical instrument, with colours pulsing and shifting in sync to an original score by Emmy Award-winning composer Nainita Desai.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Perry Sandhills, this unique sensory experience invites visitors to wander through a mesmerising landscape where music becomes colour and light becomes emotion.

Before or after your visit, enjoy light refreshments from the fully licensed bar on site, or make an evening of it with dinner at one of Wentworth’s much-loved local pubs, including the Captain Sturt Hotel or the Royal Hotel. Guests are also welcome to bring a relaxed BYO picnic to enjoy beneath the stars.
